SYMBOLISM 

SHIELD – derived from the provincial seal of Pangasinan where the town is located.

 

UPPER PORTION – reflects the fishing port located inside a cove opposite a mountain where an old lighthouse stands at the mouth of the sea.

 

MIDDLE PORTION (L) – portrays agriculture, the major occupation of the people.

 

MIDDLE PORTION (R) – represents the two major cottage industries  namely, bag and basket weaving and shell craft.

 

LOWER PORTION (L) – depicts the salt beds which are locally dubbed as Pag-asinan meaning place where salt is prepared.

 

LOWER PORTION (R) – stands for fishing industry where people in seven barangays in the municipality are engaged in.
