SYMBOLISM 

SHIELD – derived from the provincial seal of Cagayan where the town is located.

 

3 STARS – represent the 3 main islands of the Philippines: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

 

SUN WITH EIGHT RAYS – represent the first 8 provinces that fought against Spaniards in the pursuit of Philippine Independence.

 

RICEFIELD – the vast plains indicate the economic potential of the municipality which is agricultural, further depicting the main source of livelihood of the people which is farming.

 

MAN, PLOW AND CARABAO – signify the farm implement and working animal commonly used by the majority of the people in the farming activity.

 

RICE AND CORN – represent the main products of the municipality.
