SYMBOLISM 

SHIELD – derived from the provincial seal of Ilocos Sur where the town is located.

 

7 RATTAN POLES – stand for unity of the seven barangays; strength of the municipality towards progress. Also a symbol of the wood products of the town.

 

COFFEE AND TOBACCO – denote the cash crops of the municipality. Also stand for honor and dignity.

 

1978 – denotes the year of its foundation.
