SHIELD – derived from the provincial seal of Ilocos Sur where the town is located.

 

CIRCLE – symbolizes unity and oneness

 

PLOW AND SEAHORSES – symbols of basic industries of the municipality which are farming and fishing.

 

WOODEN LOOM – signifies the existence of cottage industry which is loomweaving.

 

TOBACCO AND RICESTALK – represent the two major products of the municipality.

 

GOLD – stands for prosperity and progress

 

GREEN – signifies abundance

 

RED, WHITE, BLUE AND THREE STARS – derived from the Philippine National flag.
