SYMBOLISM 

SHIELD – derived from the provincial seal of Ilocos Sur where the town is located.

 

CHURCH AND BELL TOWER – represent the Santa Maria Church, the famous Historical Landmark of the municipality.

 

WATERFALLS – represents the Pinsal Falls found at barangay Babal-lasioan, where the footprint of Angolo was left when he was in search of Aran, his wife.

 

HAT AND MAT WEAVING, SALT MAKING – represent the main industries of the municipality.

 

BEACH – represents Suso Beach, one of the main tourist spots of Santa Maria.

 

WHIPCORD – symbolizes discipline, determination, courage and authority.
