SYMBOLISM 

SHIELD – derived from the provincial seal of Cagayan where the town is located.

 

MARINE PRODUCTS – denote fishing as one of the primary sources of income of the townspeople with lobsters from the corral rifts attracting buyers from different places.

 

RICE PANNICLES – represent farming as the primary source of income of the municipality.

 

RATTAN – denotes that the municipality has abundant supply of rattan and has made rattan craft a thriving industry.

 

LOGS – stand for the municipality’s vast forest land area which make logging a profitable source of livelihood.

 

LIGHTHOUSE – one of the tourist attractions of the municipality built by the Spaniards to guide ships during stormy weather.

 

PORTS – represent Port Irene located at barangay Casambalangan at the Port located at barangay San Vicente through which fertilizers and prime agricultural products are shipped especially during the closing of Dalton Pass to traffic.
