SHIELD – derived from the seal of the province of Ilocos Sur

 

BURI WOVEN HAT, BAG AND BANIG (MAT) – as background, represents mat weaving, one of the cottage industries the municipality is known for. Buri palm thrives providing year-round supply of raw materials for mat, hats and handbags.

 

ANVIL AND HAMMER – represent the implements used for blacksmithing, the common home industry of the municipality which produces razors and scissors skillfully.

 

TOBACCO LEAF – represents the primary cash crop of the municipality which produces quality virginia tobacco.

 

GARIC AND ONION – represents farm product of the municipality.

 

COW’S HEAD – represents cattle production of the municipality.
