The shield is derived from the provincial seal of Ilocos Norte where the town is located.


FOREST and IRRIGATION SYSTEM - the left side represents the forest product and the cool water that is temporarily impounded for the communal irrigation as good place for fishing and as picnic site

GREEN FIELD - the right side denotes agriculture as the major source of income of the people and its mountain that offers the best ground for mountain climbing and hunting

DEER - the upper portion represents the wild life that abounds in the Municipality
