SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Zamboanga del Norte where the town is located

BIBLE - represents the guidance of every local government unit, through God's will, in order to meet peace and progress in the municipality, as the Lord said in Proverbs 4:1-2 saying, "Hear your children the instruction of the Father and attain to know understanding"

LIGHTED CANDLE - represents the light of every one's life to pave the path of eternal glory ih the kingdom of God as St. John said in John 1:4-3, "In him was life; and the life was the light on men. And the light shineth in darkness and the darkness comprehended it not"

CHURCH - symbolizes moral recovery, spiritual growth of human beings as St. Paul said in Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be subject to higher powers. For there is no power but of God; the powers that be ordained of God"

CATTLE HEAD & RICEFIELD - represent that the municipality's development thrust is agriculture - the means of livelihood of the people

BRIDGE AND ROAD - represent the municipality's development and other support services with regards to infrastructure projects that serve as linkages with farflung barangays for the efficient delivery of social services and easy transport of agricultural products which help promote economic growth of the people
