COLORS RED, WHITE, and BLUE - represent the colors of the Filipino flag

THREE (3) STARS - represents the three (3) main islands of the Philippines—namely Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao with the sun and its rays shinning over all parts of the islands

MAP - represents the geographical area of the Municipality of Ligao with 55 existing and duly recognized barangays categorized into poblacion, lowland, upland and coastal barangays

VOLCANO - represent the majestic Mayon Volcano, the beautiful landmark of Albay where Ligao belongs is responsible for the fertility of the soil and for the abundant supply of sand and gravel, source of additional revenues for Ligao

RICEFIELDS - denotes Ligao being a part of the 3 congressional district, the rice granary of Albay

COCONUT TREES, RICE, and CORN - represents the important crops of the municipality of Ligao

THREE (3) FISHES and SEA - represents the three (3) coastal villages of the municipality

HUMAN FIGURES - refers to the Ligawenos or the population of Ligao, whose dreams and aspirations is for a peaceful and progressive Ligao with the blessings of democracy and justice for all
