ISLANDS - barangay that sprouted at the middle of the river producing bountiful rootcrops

PALAY/SACKS OF RICE - represent the main products of the municipality

LOGS - represent the town's richness in forest products

RIVER - represents the mighty Cagayan River which disected the municipality

BRIDGE - the first hanging bridge in the Philippines; the decisive link for progress between Cagayan and Region I


COLOR SYMBOLISM: 

GREEN - depicts that the municipality is predominantly agricultural

YELLOW - stands for vision of development
