PROVINCIAL SHIELD - the designated provincial shield of the Province of Palawan
1978 - the year of foundation of the Municipality of Kalayaan
LAPU-LAPU - (Leopard Coral Grouper); this highly commercial species of a grouper is found in plethora within the waters of the Municipality of Kalayaan. The proper preservation and use of this fish is seen to be the key to Kalayaan's economic stability.
GREEN SEA TURLE - basically found in the Island of Pag-asa, Kalayaan, Palawan. This gentle giant is highly seasonal. Pag-asa Island and Likas Island are sanctuaries or home for this giant sea turtle.
GREY GULL - this species of seagull is present and abounding in the islands of Kalayaan more particularly Lawak where they have their habitat
SILHOUTTE - represents the seven habitable islands of the Municipality. It also represents the diverse population of the town coming from different part of the country
MAP - shows the Philippine map. The presence of the map signifies the country's claim to the disputed islets on this part of the world
