SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Palawan where the town is located
ISLAND - represents the Ursula Island declared through Presidential Proclamation No. 14 dated April 30, 1930 as Palawan's Game Refuge and Bird Sanctuary. A 17 hectare oval shape island with a wide coral reef covering an area larger than the island itself and is a haven to over 150,000 birds. Programe, projects and activities are being made and implemented through the Protected Area Management Board (PAMB) composed of representatives from the various sectors within the Municipality of Bataraza and National Agencies. This also represent the other islands/islets in the municipality which will also be a potential tourist destination in the near future

PICK & SHOVEL - represent mining as one of the major industries of the municipality
COCONUT, RICE & CORN - symbolizes the major agricultural products of the municipality
FISHES & SEA - stand for fishing industry, another source of income of the people
1964 - the year when Bataraza became an independent Municipality by virtue of R.A. No. 3425
