SYMBOLISM 

The Pearl identifies the Philippine Department of Tourism worldwide because the country is also known as the “Pearl of the Orient Seas”.

 

The Pearl’s shell with 13 divisions, including the base, represents the 12 regions and the National Capital Region and entire country composed of the three major geographical area: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao.

 

The round shape of the seal and all the flowing lines symbolize DOT’s efforts worldwide.

 

The base of the shell, also represent the DOT office which initiates various government tourism activities.
