SYMBOLISM

The unit’s motto is “INNOVATOR” which denotes creativeness of new ideas or principles or changes for the better. This motto is applied to the 63rd Infantry Battalion for its mission. New methods or modifications of doctrines could be introduced to defeat the enemies of the society.

 

SHIELD – represents the Philippine Army are of responsibility which, as represented by three miniature stars, comprises the islands of LUZON, VISAYAS and MINDANAO where the 63rd Infantry Battalion may be deployed to any area therein.

 

BOLO – a metallic weapon used by Filipinos in primitive arts and works and also during their fight against tyranny to achieve Independence and attain peace and freedom. It also symbolizes weapon or an instrument for lasting peace.

 

63 – the numerical designation of the battalion as a unit in the Philippine Army. When summed up, it gives the lucky number 9.

 

INF BN – simply states the type and size of the unit.

 

INNOVATOR – the word itself implies creativeness for something new or change for the better.

 

The shield is colored LIGHT GREEN which symbolizes fertility and richness of natural resources of the entire area of responsibility. The fertility if agricultural lands gives the people better livelihood and wealth. The forest lands, rice lands, coconut lands and other natural resources make the people more supportive of their dreams for a better education of their children, a better social life, shelter and other basic needs.

 

The figure 63 and letters INF BN,  miniature BOLO are colored WHITE which represents sincerity in serving the people, country and above all, GOD.

 

The handle of the bolo is colored BLACK, usually made of/from carabao horns, represents the resourcefulness and ingenuity of the Filipino Soldiers.

 

The miniature STARS and the word INNOVATOR are colored GOLD. This represents the excellent performance to be rendered by the Unit in accomplishing its assigned tasks/missions.
