SYMBOLISM

 

21 DIAMONDS – represents the 21 barangays of the Municipality.

 

GOLD FIELD – represents the abundant rice and corn field.

 

GREEN FIELD – represents the wide pastureland and ranches.

 

RED FIELD – represents the courage of the hardy Ilocano settlers who conquered the area from fierce natives, thick forest and cogon land, malaria and crocodiles.

 

FORKED BLUE – represents the two rivers (Siffu and Mallig that surrounds the municipality)

 

GAWA (LABOR), DANGAL (HONOR) AND PAG-IBIG (LOVE) – Official motto

 

1967 – Foundation year of the town
