SYMBOLISM


During the Spanish Regime, Bacolor became the temporary capital of the Philippines and occupied by the retreating Spanish forces.

 

When the Spaniards finally repelled the British forces, King Philip of Spain, in recognition of the Invaluable support of the townspeople of Bacolor issued a royal decree on November 9, 1765 naming the town “VILLA DE BACOLOR” with a special coat-of-arms with the inscription “VILLA DE BACOLOR NON-PLUS-ULTRA” meaning “Town of Bacolor…One of the many do not go further.”
