67TH INFANTRY (AGILA) BATTALION
10TH INFANTRY DIVISION, PHILIPPINE ARMY
SYMBOLISM
PHILIPPINE EAGLE – symbolizes the rare breed of men that compose the 67th Infantry Battalion. It symbolizes bravery, daring, intelligence, speed and formidable strength. Its capability to fly and soar into great heights not reached by other birds symbolizes the 67th IB’s capability to go where the action is; to be where the people need them and act as their protector against all forces of evil. Its eyes that are keen and sharp symbolize vigilance, alertness and capability to locate its enemies and destroy them.
SURVIVAL KNIFE – symbolizes the 67th’ IB’s military strength and firepower that it will have to resort to whenever the left hand effort in dealing with its enemies fails. It also symbolizes the troopers inherent capability to survive the most difficult situations in the field.
THREE STARS – symbolize the inseparable islands of Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao which stands for national integrity and unit. In the midst of all secessionist threats, the 67th IB pledges to protect and secure the integrity and sovereignty of the Filipino nation. The three stars also symbolize the three main weapons of the AFP against insurgency: Civilian-Military Operations, Intelligence and Tactical Operations.
SHIELD – symbolize chivalry and the 67th IB’s steadfast determination to protect and defend the Filipino people against all forms of lawlessness and evil.
“KATARUNGAN” & “PAGKAKAISA” – Justice, delivered swiftly and without discrimination, is what our people need and that’s what they’ll get from the 67th IB. Unity is the foundation of its strength and power. It is also the only factor that can save the Filipino nation from the evil claws of communism and other secessionist forces.
YELLOW – symbolizes the Filipino people’s courage and determination to be free from tyranny as exemplified by the February 1986 Revolution.
BROWN – symbolizes humility and solid ground on which every man stands.
WHITE AND BLUE – colors of the national flag which symbolizes bravery, purity and peace which is the ultimate objective of every 67th IB trooper.
AGILA – the 67th IB was conceptualized, organized and became a reality due to an Operation Plan code named “Agila” shall be the nom de guerre of the 67th IB.
