MUNICIPALITY OF STA. CRUZ
PROVINCE OF MARINDUQUE

SYMBOLISM
CROSS – symbolizes the religious origin of the
municipality. Its present name “STA. CRUZ” was derived from the words “HOLY
CROSS”.
SEA AND
FISH – the blue expanse covering the
north eastern to the south eastern coastal portion of the municipality denotes
a portion of Tayabas Bay in which fish abounds representing the second major
source of income of most of its barangays located along the fringes of Tayabas
Bay.
COCONUT
TREE –composes about ninety percent
(90%) of the vegetation of Sta. Cruz giving the whole town a vista of a huge
panoramic lush unending plantation. Coconut is the major agricultural product
of the municipality.
SHOVEL & PICK
MATTOCK– depict the ore mining industry,
the source of major employment and the principal source of income for the third
class municipality.
