STRUCTURE (ON BLUE FIELD) – oldest structure in the municipality, (Viejo) also a symbol of heritage, peace and order.

PLOW (ON RED FIELD) – symbolizes agriculture

CORN, PEANUT, RICE, AND TOBACCO (ON GREEN FIELD) – symbolize agricultural products of the municipality.

3 WAVY STRIPES – symbolize bodies of water found in municipality such as Cagayan and Magat Rivers and a creek.

PENTAGON – symbolizes the Crown of Queen Mercedes, lady of King Alfonso III of Spain.

RED AND BLUE – symbolizes the Philippine Flag.

GREEN – symbolizes farms and vegetation.

SKY BLUE – symbolizes body of water.

YELLOW – symbolizes peace and harmony.
