SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Benguet where the town is located

GONG OR GANSA - at the center of the shield, symbolizes the highland culture of the natives; the optimistic outlook of the people, their oneness and viability to progress

DAM & RESERVOIR - at the upper left quadrant of the shield represent Ambuklao and Binga Hydro-electric plant

MINER'S TOOLS - at the upper right quadrant of the shield stand for the rich mineral resources and the mining industry of the municipality

NATIVE BASKET OR KAYABONG - at the lower left quadrant of the shield, represents the basket weaving and home industries of Mankayan as well as its vegetable production

RICE TERRACES - at the lower right quadrant of the shield, represent the tourist attraction of the municipality as well as its agricultural industry
