CIRCLE - symbolizes unity among the people of the municipality of Catanauan. Yellow gold color - signifies Catanauan as a lively and progressive community, it was also believed that in the earlier times, gold can be found surrounding the municipality
SUN SETTING BEHIND THE MOUNTAINS - shows nat the sun sets beautifully in Catanauan which is being compared to the sunset of Manila Bay. there are also mountains in the municipality from which if one looks at the seashore of the municipality, one can see the island of Marinduque, thus the origin of the name "Catanauan". The name is derived from the tagalog word "tanawan", meaning vantage point

RIVER AND BANCA - indicate that fishing is also an occupation of the people next only to copra making. Dark orange color on the sail - signifies the age - old practice of the fisher folks of applying "dye" on the cloth extracted from the bark of the mangrove plant, thus they call this process "Binagna"
COCONUT TREES AND FRUITS - signify that the municipality is one of the top copra producers in Quezon Province. Coconut fruits - to show that coconut are productive in the municipality and to support the statement that Catanauan is one of the top copra producers in Quezon Province
