COMMISSION ON ELECTIONS

Within a circle of azure background are fourteen equal yellow rays emitting behind a golden ballot box. The ballot box has latin maxim "VOX POPULI, VOX DEI" inscribed thereon. In front of the ballot box is a quill drawn over a balance (scale) with each pan placed equally level to each other. In between the rays are seven white dots, in the lower middle portion, under the ballot box is the number 1940


FOURTEEN (14) RAYS - represent the fourteen geographical regions of the Philippines

BALLOT BOX - represents the main duty of the Commission which is to ensure and preserve the sanctity of the people's voice as shown by the latin maxim "VOX POPULI, VOX DEL". (THE VOICE OF THE PEOPLE (IS) THE VOICE OF GOD)

QUILL PEN AND BALANCE - represent the people's equal right and power to vote

SEVEN (7) WHITE ROUNDELS - represent the Chairman and six Commissioners

1940 - represents the year when the Commission was created


The circle represents the eternal vigilance of the Commission in the preservation of truth, justice, unity, freedom and democracy in the Philippines, while the azure background symbolizes tje noble political ideals and purposes of electoral exercises
