MAROON BACKGROUND - symbolizes the resiliency of the Ivatans, that after the disaster and other natural calamities, the natives are still unaffected like the native bamboo

LIGHT GREEN COLOR - ushers the dawn of economic and political development of Batanes

BLUE COLOR - symbolizes the deep blue sea surrounding the Batanes Island rich with marine products
