SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Negros Occidental where town is located

PLANT - at the center is called pandan of which the town derived its name. The eleven (11) leaves stands for the eleven original barangays of the municipality. 1917, represents year of the founding of the town

SHIP - at the upper left hand stands for the labor sector in the locality

WAREHOUSE - at the upper right hand represents the industrial sector

SUGARCANE - at the lower left hand represent the sugar industry

FISH AND FISHING NET - at the left hand represent the fish industry which supply the protein requirement of the place
