SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Quezon, symbolizes the people's sacrifices for the good of the town
SPEAR - thrusting upward, symbolizes the continuous progress of the municipality
BOLOS & PLANTS - stand for the weapons used by the early settlers in depending themselves against moro pirates. The poison used for the tips of the weapon is derived from the plant "GANYANG". The weapon is said to be guinayangan, the derivative of the town's name

THREE (3) BROWN MOUNTAINS - represent the first three (3) families (TUPAS, MATTA and MOLINES) who first established settlement which later became the municipality
YELLOW RISING SUN & SUNRAYS - stand for the progress of the municipality
BLUE COLOR - denotes the sea (Ragay gulf) where a part of the municipality is situated
THREE (3) WHITE WAVES - stand for the number of times the town was invaded and plundered
