The black outer ring denotes the hazards and privations inherent to the role and tasks of the unit

The black circle in the center alludes to secrecy

The checkboard of yellow and blue signifies the tactical and strategic phases of intelligence, and patience, a quality every intelligence man must have

The three stars represent the three major island groups namely: Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao

The white color exemplifies purity—no selfish motive underscores our actions, that service to country and people is over and above personal desires and comfort

The red color stands for ardor in the quest for peace and stability, for courage and zeal in helping attain the people's aspirations

The blue color, a distinctive Army color stands for the lofty ideals of valor and heroism

The Philippine Eagle, our country's national bird, a courageous hunter, a symbol of power and freedom, symbolizes the Group's earnest watch over the archipelago. Fierce and proud, it soars gracefully high in the sky. It glides over great distances, watching out for prey—for any threat to our democratic ideals and aspirations. With the keenest sight of all, the eagle spots its prey, then strikes and seizes the prey with its long, curve talons

The Sphinx embodies wisdom and silence as it poses in vigil as protector of democracy made of gold to denote that to be a guardian of our democratic institutions is the finest and highest purpose

The scale stands for justice and fairness which the unit uphold in all its undertakings. The balance pivots on a sword, as a reminder that no one is above the law no matter what his stature in society is

The lighted torch stands for knowledge and enlightenment that guide the unit in decisive moments. It serves as a beacon to a future where the light of peace bathes the whole nation

The seal, in whole, signifies the Group's boldness, fortitude and determination. It denotes the Unit's resilience and vision in the midst of events, facing the challenges, ever vigilant as it keeps its watch over the archipelago
