LIGHTNING BOLT - stands for the quickness and power of the battalion; ready to be deployed anywhere in the Philippines or even outside if necessary at any given time. The unit is always prepared to meet the challenge and strike whenever and wherever needed

WILDCAT - represents the cunning of every member of the unit in accomplishing a given mission. From the Commanding Officer to the lowest ranking member, each of them has the capability of being fierce and courageous, yet wise in fighting

NUMBER 42 - is the unit's numerical designation

LAUREL LEAVES - stand for the glory that the unit has set itself to acquire and achieve

BLUE COLOR BACKGROUND - stands for peace and order, the unit's mission to preserve in any AOR it may be assigned to

RED COLOR BORDER - represents the bravery in facing dangers and risks in the accomplishment of any given mission
