GEAR, RICE STALK, TORCH AND FLAME - It symbolizes the integration of two State College, the then Nueva Vizcaya State Institute of Technology (NVSIT) in Bayombong and the Nueva Vizcaya State Polytechnic College (NVSPC) in Bambang into a single entity, the Nueva Vizcaya State University. It also symbolizes the University's quest for excellence in all its Academic Programs, the relevance and responsiveness of its research and extension services and its pursuit toward greater financial self-reliance.
SCALLOP EIGHTS - It represents the University goals categorized based on eight (8) key areas of concern, namely: Circular Programs, Facilities and Equipment, Faculty and Student Services, Research Program, Extension Program, Management, Administrative Services and Financial Services. It also symbolizes excellence in all academic programs of the University.
CONCENTRIC CIRCLES. Two Inner - It represents the NVSU family as an unbroken circle, united in purpose in serving the University. Outer. NVSU family should be an unbroken circle, united in purpose in extending services to other people. It also represents strong and sustainable national and international linkages.
WHITE RAYS. Four. Radiating the map of Nueva Vizcaya - it represents the four (4) services/functions of the University, namely: Instruction, Research, Extension and Production.
MAP - It represents the map of Nueva Vizcaya as the primary clientele of the University.
RICE STALK. Eight. It is highlighted to symbolize its quest to be a Center of Excellence in Agriculture Education. It also symbolized the eight (8) goals of the University
GEAR - it is highlighted to symbolize its quest to be a Center of Excellence in Technology Education. Also it symbolizes the University's responsiveness to meet the ever changing challenges of information and Communications Technology.
TORCH. its represents excellence in education, arts, sciences, technology and agriculture
FLAME. It represents the University's burning flame of excellence and its quest in pursuit of being a Premier University.
LETTERS. The Nueva Vizcaya State University was realized through the enactment of Republic Act 9272. year 1916 is the establishment of the farm settlement which evolved to now Bayombong Campus.
UNIVERSITY COLOR. Yellow and green- symbolizes the color of the province
