SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of La Union where the town is located.

UPPER DESIGN - Boiling caldron, shaking hands and native/wrapper tobacco represent an ever burning desire in preserving oneness. It also signifies warmth, unity, peace and reconciliation.

CENTRAL DESIGN - features the angel of St. Isadore, the patron saint of the farmers.

LOWER DESIGN - depicts the major crop of the town.

1886 - the year Tubao was founded.

SCROLL - features the provincial motto in local dialect, "In Unity there is Strength".

Other tribes include the Kalanguya, Karao and the Kankana-eys who also wear similar native attire during festivals and other gatherings.
