SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal.
1880 - the year the municipality was founded
per Real Order No. 469 dated May 25, 1880.
BOLO, SPEAR AND CATTLE HEAD -
symbolize the victory of the natives over the superior Americans in the Battle
of Pulang Lupa on September 13, 1900. The cattle head symbolizes the major
industry of the early settlers.
TWO (2) COCONUT TREES - depict the
major agricultural product.
NAVY BLUE COLOR AND FISH -
symbolizes the rich fishing ground at Tayabas Bay where fish are caught in
abundance as a means of livelihood of the inhabitants.
AQUA BLUE AND WHITE - the
predominant color of the municipal banner.
