SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Cavite where the town is located.

CHURCH - represents the historic "Holy Cross Church" where Gen. Emilio Aguinaldo and other officials of the Revolutionary Government elected in the Tejeros Convention, took their Oath of Office on the night of March 23, 1897.

RICEFIELD - represents farming as one of the main sources of livelihood of the townspeople.

FISHING BOAT AND SCENIC BEACH RESORT - represents fishing, another main source of livelihood and special rest and recreation places and scenic spots available in the municipality which attract tourist and form part of the identity of the town as it is widely known for.

FACTORY - represents the several manufacturing industries that Tanza is engaged in such as furniture and fixtures, car and jeep body repairs, bagoong and fish production, apparel and garment manufacture, ship building, glass factory and paper mill.

1910 - marks the year "Sta. Cruz de Malabon" became an independent municipality by virtue of a resolution passed by the municipal council of San Francisco de Malabon in 1909; in 1914 its name was change to Tanza by virtue of Act. No. 2390.
