SHIELD - derived form the provincial seal of
Ilocos Sur where the town is located.
THREE (3) STARS - stand for the
three periods in the history of the town: 1. under the tribal leadership of
Datus, 2. under the Commonwealth and the Republic, 3. year when Sugpon became a
full pledged municipality (1978).
MOUNTAINS - signify that Sugpon is
mountainous municipality.
SUN- signifies hope and progress.
RICEFIELD - represents agriculture, the
main source of livelihood.
COCONUT TREE - symbolizes the abundance of coconut in
the municipality.
NIPA HUT - stands for the availability of local
materials used for housing.

represents the secondary products of the municipality.
