MUNICIPALITY OF SAN FERNANDO
PROVINCE OF PAMPANGA
Year Approved: 2004
The corporate seal of the City of San Fernando is circular in form and bonded by ropes which showcase the unity of the Fernandinos. The name of the city is imprinted in bold letters on the outer part of the rim. At the center is a smaller ring where the 34 stars are arranged in circular form representing the number of barangays of the city. The giant lantern at the center represents the city—one and united in goals and aspirations. Likewise, a very significant element of the seal as the city is renowned worldwide for its magnificent and giant lanterns; its annual lantern festival, a traditional annual spectacular which entices local and international tourists made it to bag title as the lantern capital of the Philippines. At the heart of the star are illustrations of progress and development—high-rise buildings, fly-overs, vehicles, factories, a laborer turning the symbolic wheel, trees, all represent the continuing commercial and industrial progress brought about by advanced technology and urbanization and man’s commitment for continued preservation and protection of the environment. The dominant colors of blue, white and red represent the national colors while yellow and green are reminiscent of the gallantry of the people during the 1986 EDSA Revolution which brought back democracy and freedom.
