SHIELD - the indigenous armor used by our ancestors. This symbolizes that the unit is the protector of the people. It is colored green to represent the rich verdant fields and vegetated mountains that nurtured the Filipino people which the unit must protect. It is bordered with black color to connote jungle wherein 2ID is known for as "Jungle Fighter" Division.

DIAMOND - the hardest stone which signifies greatness, nobility and unity of the personnel of the unit.

THREE STARS - symbol of the three (3) main geographical regions of the Philippines: Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao which the unit is duty-bound to defend.

RED COLOR - symbolizes courage, bravery and patriotism of the unit’s personnel.

KRIS - the indigenous weapon of the Filipino warrior, Black color of the handle stands for boldness in the face of dangers.

LAUREL - symbolizes excellence in the performance of duty and in the accomplishment of mission.

NUMBER 2 - stands for the numerical designation of the unit, the 2nd Division of the Philippine Army.
