SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Ilocos Sur where the town is located.

THREE STARS - stand for the three Filipino martyr priests namely Father Gomez, Burgos, and Zamora.

DESIGN IN GREEN BACKGROUND - depicts the municipality as mountainous with the lowland area devoted to Virginia tobacco plantation, which Ilocos Sur is noted for.

PLOW IN GREEN BACKGROUND - stands for farming, the main livelihood of the townspeople.
