SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Misamis Oriental where the municipality belongs;

1940 - represents the year the municipality was created through Executive Order 266 dated April 15, 1940;

LETTER A - stands for Alubijid

CORN, TOBACCO LEAVES, RICE PLANT, COCONUT, and FISH - represent the major products of the town;

SUN, THREE STARS, AND COLORS BLUE, RED, AND WHITE - derived from the National Flag;

SIXTEEN WHITE DOTS - represent the sixteen barangays of the municipality.
