TWO (2) ENCIRCLING BLUE LINES - represent the protective shield of the government as vanguard of the municipality.

NINE (9) GOLDEN RAYS OF THE SUN - represent the nine barangays of the municipality.

MOUNTAIN, VALLEYS AND UPLAND AND LOWLAND FIELD - symbolize Alilem as a farming community.

SILHOUETTE OF A FARMER AND CARABAO PLOWING THE FIELDS - symbolize the industry and perseverance of the people.

BINDING ROPES - symbolizes unity among the townspeople both in times of peace and trouble.

BROOM AND BASKETS - stand for the cottage industry of the municipality.

TOBACCO LEAF, BANANA AND PALAY OR RICE STALK - represent the agricultural products of municipality.

SCROLL WITH ROMAN NUMERALS - marks the year of foundation of the municipality–1890.

BLUE - stands for unity.

RED - stands for heroism and love.

GREEN - stands for hope.

YELLOW - denotes prosperity.
