SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Cagayan where the town is located.
STARS - the twenty five (25) stars bordering the shield represent the number of barangays compromising the municipality. The two (2) stars separating the name of municipality and the province symbolize beacons as guiding lights of the municipality's leaders and government officials.
TOBACCO - represents the main product of the municipality.
RICE, CORN - stand for the second main products of the municipality.
WOODEN PLOW - signifies the farm implement most commonly used by majority of the farmers in the municipality. It also symbolizes humility, perseverance and industriousness of the townspeople, likewise, depicting Alcala as an agricultural community.
