SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Cagayan where the town is located.

TWENTY (20) RAYS - represent the twenty (20) barangays that compromised the municipality.

RICE AND CORN - depict the main products of the municipality.

NIPA - symbolizes the mangrove areas and the main source of livelihood of the townspeople.

FISH - denotes the marine products and fishing is the major source of livelihood.

COCONUT - represents the existence of coconut trees along the coastal areas wherein coconut is the secondary product of the municipality.

DIVIDING WATER - exhibits the general division between geographical settings.
