1948 - the year when the municipality was founded

SUGAR MILL - represents the Herminio Teves and Company Sugar Mill that provides livelihood and employment to the townspeople

BLUE AND RED COLORS - depict the townspeople’s deep respect to the National Flag and their distinct belief of independent and democratic governance

FARMLANDS - symbolize the town as one of the communities in Southern Negros producing corn and palay that is fairly exhibited by the kilometers-wide arable and irrigated farms

PALAY, CORN AND COCONUT - represent the major crops of the municipality

FISH AND SEA - symbolize the rich seas surrounding Santa Catalina where
the eye boggling fish harvest truly enamors the onlookers

MAP - depicts the sack-shaped map of the province of Negros Oriental where the town’s locations is marked with a dot
