SHIELD - derived from the provincial seal of Iloilo where the town is located

BLUE BACKGROUND - represents the official color of the municipality patterned after the Immaculate Conception

CIRCLE SHAPE - symbolizes the Local Government’s will to transcend the test of times and achieve its goals and objectives, rooted in its commitment to serve the people, united in community and civic affairs

“KAPIS” SHELLS & FISH - represent the abundance of Oton in lampirong (Placuna Plancenta) and other products in its aquatic and marine resources; also symbolize fishing industry as a major livelihood

CHURCH - symbolizes that the first seat of Christianity in Western Visayas was established in Oton, that it was third in the country to be accepted as the House of the Province of Most Holy Name of Jesus in the Philippines after Manila and Cebu in 1572 in honor of Immaculate Conception; also symbolizes that the First Council of the Church in the Philippines was convened in Oton

GOLDEN MASK - bolsters Oton’s richness in ancient artifacts and the townspeople’s ancient art in blacksmithing

1572 - marks the year of the establishment of Oton and became the first pueblo in Panay and Western Visayas as the seat of the government known as the “La Alcaldia de Oton”

WOVEN CLOTH - denotes the people’s long nurtured artistry in weaving hat, patch making and other similar livelihood

LAUREL LEAVES - symbolize the people’s quest for excellence in any field of human endeavor
